If you are suffering a recent break up all you can think of is how can you get your ex to fall back in love with you. You wake up each morning and realize this is not a dream, that you have to live another day without this person who seems to be holding your breath because of their absence. It is hard to go about the day because everything you do reminds you of your ex. It is annoying when people tell you that your ex was no good for you in the first place. You pick up the phone and stare at it waiting for it to ring. You dial their number repeatedly hoping to hear their voice. This has to stop. You have to shake it off and get a grip or just pretend for a while. You need to think with a rational mind and come up with a strategy. Yes you read right. Clean Up
Stop whining and acting miserable. I know you are desperate to get your ex to fall back in love with you, but your ex will just get more power if you show then how vulnerable you are to them. You need to clear your mind, meditate if you have to and sit down to analyze what went wrong. If you have a friend who has been close to both of you and who is not afraid to be honest, sit down with them and ask them what they thought you did wrong. I know you are dying to call them, to send them a text or just write on their wall, but I urge you to control the temptation. This is because of many reasons. Right now your ex is too angry to listen to you and is not going to hear anything you say. Second, you are too emotional to be rational right now. Third, you don’t really have anything more to say than needy pleadings like, “I love you, please don’t do this to me”, “I need you so much”, “I can’t go on without you”. All these things will just push your ex away from you.
Come Up With an Action Plan
Once you have figured out what made your relationship go down south, you need to come up with a plan to correct the things you did wrong. If your ex cheated on you, I recommend you give them a chance to come back to you, because if they cheated and now are happy to walk away, they really don’t care for you. So however hard it may seem, just let them go. If you have been at fault, you have control over the changes. So go ahead, write it all down and go for it with a calm cool head.
Give Them Time
Once you have made your pitch, back off and give them some time. Don’t push them. After a breakup, you will usually get very few chances if any to talk to your ex. So don’t blow it. Keep a cool head. Decide exactly what you are going to say and stick with it. Your ex might say something that can trigger you to go off the script and get overly passionate, but hold that thought for when your ex opens up to you a little. This may be in another meeting. Be patient.
Do Not Try to Make them Jealous
You might think that if you go out with someone else to make them jealous your ex will fall back in love with you, you are dead wrong. Making them jealous can only delay the process if not kill it. Seeing you with someone else will only tell your ex that you have moved on and they will wonder if you ever meant anything you said to them. They will resent you even more and might try to move on themselves.
Let Your Ex Initiate Contact
Wait for your ex to initiate contact. Make sure you stay on their radar and are always sincere but controlled when you run across them. The signal you send should be, I am here for you but you have not destroyed me.
