We’re about to take mobility to a whole another level. I want to show you a device right now and you're probably looking at this wondering what it is. Well it's a printer and you're probably thinking okay, well when it's going to bring out the extra parts. There are no extra parts the ink, the paper, the printer itself are all contained in this little stick. It's from a company called PlanOn and it's called the PrintStik and before I get too far here I'm going to start this little print job because one of the drawbacks to having such a small little device is the fact that it's not the fastest printer in the world. As a matter of fact it has about 200 DPI so probably I haven’t heard of that quality for a long time and as you can see here and you’ll start to see very quickly the resolution is not nearly what you’d expect to see on today’s printers in terms of LaserJet or Inkjet. But the idea is that if you're in a pinch and you need to print something, maybe it's a sales contract, maybe you're working on a proposal or real estate deal that you need to do. Well, the idea is this battery powered little unit can run off of a laptop computer and print about anything. You can even print from your Blackberry phone currently only text messages but the idea is that it's a mobile printer to go with any mobile device that you have. The idea here is that because it's using thermal technology, instead of Inkjet technology. It's similar to the fax machine of days gone past that the ink itself it contained on the paper. What happens is that the print head actually heats up and that heat transfer actually makes the image appear, so it doesn’t do color. It's only black and white but you can see here that I'm starting to print out this Google map of directions. I could do the whole thing on my little laptop here, let say my batteries are running down or I want to print this off before it started my trip I'm going to get the whole thing on paper and I did print this out before we started the segment because I knew it would take a little bit of time but you can see here for the most part the quality it exactly what it needs to be. You know, it kind of looks like a fax print out but for a couple of $100.00 to be able to have portability in printing and the device that you can just have as a backup in your car if you're a sort of sales person on the road it's a pretty cool little device. Again it's called the PlanOn PrintStik and it's the perfect solution for super mobile printing. For printing well out and about you should also check out these portable printers.
