Samsung SCX Printer Review Well if we think about photocopiers, scanners, and printers the first word often comes to my mind is ugly. Well Samsung is putting printers to its test they’ve taken Apples, combination of design and slick functionality to put out the SCX-4500. As you can see here it’s a lot smaller than most of the other multi function laser printers on the market. This one is a black and white one, it doesn’t have color but it’s more compact in fact Samsung claims it is the world’s smallest multi function laser printer. Kind of cool, so let’s take a look at some of the features of this. It costs about $260.00 if you’re comparing it to other similar printers on the market it costs a little bit more the other one is coming in about a $150.00 to $200.00. So in terms of functionality here it prints out at about 17 pages per minute. Now that compared to other printers again about in the same class those ones are about 14 to 19 pages per minute so this one comes in the middle there. In terms of output resolution it’s about 600 by 600 more than enough than you’ll need for black white printing. Normally, the minimum is 300 DPI. Now Samsung claims that this printer is one of the quietest out there coming in only 45 decibels and hardly you can hardly pick it from your ears. So let’s put this to the test I’m going to take a piece of paper that I’ve printed out on here and we’re going to make a photo copy of it as you can see it’s got a detachable buttons and the blue LED screen. Really love that and when I press to start copy button it’s got this little laser like that goes along there. Super cool but speeding it out right now as you can hear it’s really, really quiet, it’s not at all like what you would normally think of the formality function laser printer they are usually like ker clunk, ker clunk, ker clunk, this one not the case at all. So it holds about a 100 sheets of paper, it’s got a nice little eject button down here so that you can refill the tray just to show you guys here, 100 pieces of paper not that much. It holds about 8 megabytes of storage so more than enough than you need for any scanning or printing when it comes to black and white copies and it’s got a cool feature which I really to call easy jam clearing. And what that means is basically when it gets a jam you just press a little button there and it kind of reloads itself and for those of you have had a problem with dealing the printers before, you almost feel like you’re struggling with them when it damns the paper in there. And you got all those pieces coming out and so overall if you’re looking at the Samsung printer I think that it’s fair to say that the functionality wise it’s kind of sitting there at the middle of the road for a smaller medium size office. It’s definitely one of the hottest one’s out there which I really like. So Samsung I think we had in the right direction here. For those of us that are looking for the basic functionality of a small office printer, this is definitely has it and if we’re willing to pay that a little bit of extra for the slickness and the size we definitely got to check out the SCX-4500.
