Thanks to British rule, there are several Catholic Churches and the basically Buddhist Hong Kong now belonging to atheist China. The largest and most famous Catholic Church is St. John’s Cathedral, but there are also smaller houses of worship where local Catholics are christened, buried and married. Ten percent of the population believes in the Christian faith and the interesting thing is that many of them are Chinese while some of the foreigners who have come to live here are Buddhists.
